Message from Ed Watson

Just a short note for those thinking about converting to Windows7.

Make sure that after running the setup.exe file to install the PIREP system, go to program files/noblepirep and select the noblepirep.exe file and set it to run as an administrator, before running the file.

Also untick the acars checkbox before connecting to flightsim for the 1st time (so acars is not active while it builds the database), it can be re-enabled after the database has finished

Otherwise ...

For the fourth month in a row Mr Busy gets the Pilot of the Month Award Steve Chapman and Tony Hoskin taking second and third places, but still someway behind.

I think we should all make a sustained effort to beat this Guy

Eight pilots, plus yours truly as marshal, took part in the race from London to Paris. Rob Wood-Ellis would have joined us but could not get a stable link to the Host. Five Hubs were represented.

After a few hitches with the Host the pilots got away on time and left London City at three minute intervals. All the aircraft successfully negotiated Tower Bridge and and The Eiffel Tower, with Ed Watson performing an impressive left turn under the Tower to save time in a wider turn

Hi Guys,

It is 3 months since I sloped off on holiday

So we have decided to fly off again for some more diving and u/w photography. We will be taking the A380 to Singapore and then on to Sulawesi in Indonesia in an A319. I will let you know when I am back in the office, but it will be in good time for the Flyin.

Please be patient if you have a promotion while I am away, I will sort out the paperwork on my return.

Hi Guys,

Some of you will remember this flyin from some 5 years ago

We will race from London City to Le Pin, South of Paris. We will pass under Tower Bridge and the Eiffel Tower. We will all be flying in Tiger Moths in a true VFR "seat of the pants" pursuit race

The link below will take you to the webpage and there are also links to download the Tiger Moths in FSX and FS9 versions.

***Put the date in your diary so we can have a fun Flyin***

He has always had a love for the place, and when they needed FS9 Brooklands scenery for their Concord simulator he obliged. He took up their offer of a visit to see it in action, and along with his wife, was kind enough to take me along today.

Hi Guys,

Following a couple of messages from London pilots, it is clear that changing the assignments details in the "About Me" menu and resubmitting does NOT change "My Assignments" as it should. I have reported this bug to Ed Watson. I would suggest if your assignments are inappropriate for you then please create charter flights until this is fixed.

If you are happy to fly the assignments as listed, they will report and move up as normal.

If anyone has Bristol Extreme (UK2000) scenery installed you might like to know that the latest version of AES base installs AES at Bristol for FS9/FSX. Also Edinburgh for FSX with FS9 planned for the future. It is already available at Heathrow, Belfast and Birmingham.

Gary Summons will be updating Gatwick later this year once he has rebuilt his scenery compiler program. I understand that Manchester Extreme is also in the pipeline for the New Year. I don't know about Stansted ...

Hi All,

Some of you maybe aware that there is a facility within the PIREP system to identify the Pilot Of The Month (POTM). The statistics of all our flights are stored on the PIREP system. Ed Watson has created a program that analyses these statistics and points are awarded accordingly

The parameters used include miles flown, completed ribbon flights, number of charter and assigned flights. The analysis is made on a Hub and monthly basis. The pilot with the most points accrued ...

But now when I press the ribbons button, the flight shown is the first leg of the tour, which I've flown already.

I tried relaunching fs9 and the PIREP software, but the Ribbons page still puts me back on the first leg.

I am happy to reveal the finished product of all your screen shots etc,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VLKgxdS474

Make sure you watch it in HD, I suggest sitting in a darkened room with a glass of your fav tipple and the volume turned way up. If you want a personal copy please email me and I will arrange for it to be sent to you as it views better when played full screen om Windows media player.

Gents

I have decided to make photo album set to music etc etc but need around 60-80(perhaps more) screen shots of various Noble Aircraft in differing places and views, I currently have around 10 decent screenshots of my own, please can I request that any Noble Pilot who has any screen shots of Noble aircraft forward them on to me at the following email address

westyandshona@talktalk.net

The resulting album will be placed on the forums.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Guys,

Another excellent repaint from Phill Irmin's stable. This one is for the Level-D B767-300 for FS9. The paintwork includes a UK registration number and the Union Flag.

There is a link from the London Webpage, but I have also made a link for this and the PMDG 737-700 from the London Hub Files page.

Thanks for a great repaint Phill

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Phill Irwin from Christchurch has produced this really great NA repaint for the FS9 PMDG B737-700. It carries the Union Flag and a British registration. It looks really good and I thoroughly recoomend it. There are full installation instructions which are easy to follow.

There is a link to the repaint from the London Hub webpage.

Many thanks to Phill for sharing it with us.
